The Long Story: Stuck between friends

Iran and USA haven’t shared great relations for a while now. But Iran was able to come to an agreement with the Obama administration on its nuclear programme. There was hope that the two nations would finally be friends. However, this hope collapsed under what many call the eccentric leadership of US President Donald Trump.

Now, while the US continues to impose sanctions on Iran, choking its economy, Iran remains defiant. Tension has escalated further with Iran shooting down a US drone. Caught in the crossfire is India, who is world’s third largest consumer of oil.
