Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik's statement defending the Kashmir clampdown has stirred row. Satya Pal Malik on Sunday said that "there is no harm in cutting communication if it saves lives." Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury hit out at the governor and said that Malik's behaviour and statements are more like a BJP leader.
In other news, the Supreme Court will hear former Finance Minister P Chidambaram's plea against Delhi High Court's plea denying him anticipatory bail in the INX Media case.
Meanwhile, the first citizen death since the abrogation of Article 370 in the valley has been reported, as stonepelters killed a truck driver on Sunday. A stone pierced the window of the truck that the driver was in and injured him on his head.
