J&K: When will normalcy be restored in Valley?

The situation in parts of Karnataka remained grim as the state continues to battle incessant rainfall and floods. The death toll in Karnataka due to rain-related accidents have crossed 40. Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Tuesday said he will visit Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 16 and request him to release 10,000 crore as assistance. In Kerala too, monsoon fury has taken 85 lives and injured many. Over 2.51 lakh people have been moved to relief camps in the god’s own country.

Meanwhile, in Jammu and Kashmir, the communication blackout continued as phone and internet services remained suspended on Tuesday for the ninth consecutive day. The home ministry has written to Twitter asking the microblogging site to remove eight anti-India accounts spreading fake news and inflammatory information in the new Union Territory.
