To The Point: Sunetra Pawar to put on husband Ajit's shoes as Maharashtra Deputy CM

Sunetra Pawar is set to take oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra on Saturday at 5 pm, according to sources. She has accepted the proposal for her elevation and will continue to handle the Excise and Sports ministries. NCP sources said the Finance portfolio will remain temporarily with Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis due to the budget session in March, but it will later be assigned to the NCP. Party leaders reportedly proposed Sunetra’s appointment to shape the party’s direction ahead of the Pune Zilla Parishad elections on February 7.
