Vaibhav Sooryavanshi at 15 is the big prize and Kyle Jamieson's send-off proves it
Kyle Jamieson dismissed Vaibhav Sooryavanshi with a yorker and gave him a fiery send-off in Jaipur. Rajasthan Royals batting coach Vikram Rathour said the reaction showed how prized the 15-year-old's wicket has become in cricket.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was back in the news, but this time for a different reason. During the RR vs DC clash in Jaipur, the young prodigy didn't leave his mark on the game, being dismissed for four runs off two balls. It was actually his dismissal and the celebration from Kyle Jamieson that grabbed the headlines.
A deadly yorker from the DC pacer brought about the end of Sooryavanshi, and he gave a fiery send-off to the 15-year-old that was quickly slammed by fans and critics. Jamieson found himself being warned by the IPL and handed a demerit point for his troubles as well.
But actually, it sort of showed Sooryavanshi's standing in the game or at least the IPL at the moment. These sort of celebrations were reserved for the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and MS Dhoni in the past, and the RR star now finds himself in the same bracket.
Following the game, RR batting coach Vikram Rathour didn't see any issue with the way that Jamieson celebrated and felt it was actually a compliment for Sooryavanshi. Rathour said that the manner in which the celebration happened actually showed how Sooryavanshi was starting to instill fear in the bowlers.
"Obviously, he (Jamieson) was excited—and that’s actually a compliment for Vaibhav. The way people celebrate after getting him out shows how big a wicket he is, so maybe that’s a compliment for him," said Rathour at the post-match press conference.
'NEVER BEEN SO FEARFUL OF A 15-YEAR-OLD KID'
Jamieson responded about taking the wicket of Sooryavanshi, saying that he had never been so spooked by a 15-year-old kid in his life.
"I don't think I've been so fearful of a 15-year-old kid in my life. But yes, we had obviously done some planning heading into the game and it's nice that it paid off," said Jamieson.
This was probably the ultimate compliment that Sooryavanshi could get in his career at the moment. Sooryavanshi has 404 runs in 10 matches with a strike-rate of 237.64. He has already hit 35 boundaries and 37 sixes this season.
He has already hit the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Josh Hazlewood for sixes, and has established himself as the big threat for many teams in the league.
