Pep Guardiola jokingly called on West Ham United to dent Arsenal’s title hopes after Manchester City narrowed the gap at the top of the table with a 3-0 win over Brentford at the Etihad Stadium.City’s victory moved them within two points of Arsenal, although Mikel Arteta’s side still controls the race and would secure the title by winning their remaining three matches, beginning with Sunday’s clash against West Ham in London.

At the end of his press conference, Guardiola lightheartedly folded his arms in imitation of the crossed hammers from West Ham’s club crest and said with a grin: “Come on you Irons.” Arsenal’s final fixtures after the West Ham game are against Burnley at home and an away trip to Crystal Palace. City, meanwhile, will face Palace on Wednesday before taking on Bournemouth following their FA Cup Final showdown with Chelsea.

IS GUARDIOLA ENJOYING THE TITLE RUN?

Guardiola had admitted earlier that City's title destiny wasn't in their hands. However, the City boss said that he is loving the final stretch when asked if the fans could expect a few more twists along the way.

“I don’t know,” he said. “We are fighting with a team quite similar to Liverpool in the past, that is in the final of the Champions League without losing a game and have been top of the league almost all season. It’s not in our hands so it depends on them dropping points but all we can do is Wednesday win again, play the final of the FA Cup and go to Bournemouth – I’d say that is not the best one to go – and then Aston Villa so the calendar is demanding."

“But it’s simple. It’s just two weeks and the season will be over. I love it – love to be here again, finish second again is the minimum so I love it. The Carabao Cup is in our pocket, the Cup final at Wembley is the most beautiful day of the season and I love it,” said Guardiola.

City play Palace, Bournemouth and Aston Villa in the last three games of the Premier League season.
