Sri Lankan Navy arrests 12 Indian fishermen

The Sri Lankan Navy today arrested six fishermen from Tamil Nadu's Pudukkottai and six from Nagapattinam districts apart from confiscating two trawler boats.

This comes hours after an attack on the fishermen late Saturday night by the navy.

As many as 2,000 Tamil fishermen in 400 boats were attacked on Saturday night by the SL Navy with beer bottles, iron roads and stones.
