Iran confirms intelligence chief's Majid Khademi death, rejects truce deadlines
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has confirmed the death of its intelligence head, Majid Khademi, following what is described as a successful decapitation attempt by the US. The IRGC praised Khademi’s decades of service and his role in security operations against foreign infiltration. Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes targeted Tehran’s Mehrabad airport, resulting in large explosions and fires. Amidst the escalation, a 45-day two-tier ceasefire proposal mediated via Pakistan is being reviewed by Tehran. However, Iran has rejected external deadlines and refused to reopen the Strait of Hormuz for a temporary truce, demanding iron-clad security guarantees. In a significant diplomatic move, Iran’s Ambassador to India, Mohammad Fathali, assured safe passage for Indian ships through the Strait of Hormuz, categorising India as a friendly nation. Additionally, the bulletin covers Donald Trump’s controversial 'Easter miracle' remarks regarding a US rescue mission and ground reports from Haifa and Kiryat Shmona detailing the impact of ongoing missile exchanges between Israel, Hezbollah, and Iran.
