Subways flooded, vehicles stranded on roads as New York faces heavy rain

The subway service in New York was disrupted, and vehicles were stranded on roads as torrential rains brought flash flooding to the city on Friday. Several ground-level apartments were inundated and some streets turned into small lakes as New York Governor Kathy Hochul warned of "life-threatening" floods and declared a state of emergency for New York City, Long Island, and the Hudson Valley.
