Bajaj has added a new Dominar to its line-up for 2020, although, this time, instead of the beating heart of the manic Duke 390, Bajaj have got an engine derived from another Duke, this time its the 250cc.

At first glance, the Bajaj Dominar looks almost identical to it's 390 powered sibling, except for the red paint scheme that is exclusive to the 250.

The instrument cluster on the 250cc Dominar is from the previous generation. This is done, in the interest of keeping costs low.

The Dominar 250 gets 300mm front brakes, 20mm under the D400, despite not having lost all that much weight. As a result the bite from the brake is lacking slightly.

The Dominar 250's motor is derived from the 250cc Duke, but Bajaj have reworked the upper half of the block and tinkered with the fuelling. As a result the D250 makes 3bhp less and .5Nm less torque.

Overall, the Bajaj Dominar 250 is a friendly, no-nonsense tourer that's good in the city as well. It may be what the Dominar brand needed from the get-go!
