In pics: Kinetic DX, retro charm meets modern tech in electric comeback

Kinetic has made its official return to the Indian two-wheeler space with the launch of the brand-new Kinetic DX EV, reviving the iconic DX badge in a fully modern electric version. The scooter comes in two variants—DX and DX+, priced at Rs 1,11,499 and Rs 1,17,499 respectively (ex-showroom, Pune).

The new Kinetic DX combines vintage charm with a modern electric look, thanks to a design partnership with Italian experts. It features a bold three-slat grille, metal side panels, and illuminated visor branding. While the DX+ comes in five colours, the standard DX is available in Silver and Black. A sturdy metal build, spacious floorboard, and 37-litre under-seat storage make it ideal for city and family use.

The Kinetic DX is powered by a 4.8kW BLDC hub motor that enables a top speed of 90 kmph. It’s equipped with a 4.6kWh LFP battery from Range-X, offering up to 3,500 charging cycles. The standard DX provides a certified IDC range of 116 km, while the DX+ adds Cruise Lock Technology, extending the range to 150 km when ridden at 25–30 kmph. Features like hill hold, reverse mode, and a 22-degree climb capability enhance its versatility across different terrains.
 

The DX offers three riding modes: Range, Power, and Turbo, to suit different needs. It features telescopic front suspension, adjustable rear shocks, and a combi-braking system with a 220mm front disc and 130mm rear drum.

The DX comes with 100/80 12-inch tubeless tyres, 165mm ground clearance, and a 1314mm wheelbase.
 

The Kinetic DX has a class-leading 37-litre under-seat storage make it a practical choice for urban and family users alike.

The Kinetic DX includes a standard warranty of 3 years or 30,000 km, which can be extended up to an impressive 9 years or 1 lakh km, making it one of the most durable EV options available in India.
 

To enhance comfort and tech appeal, the DX features an 8.8-inch digital display, built-in speaker with volume control, Bluetooth, music playback, voice navigation, and a Kinetic Assist switch for instant customer support. Convenience is further boosted with keyless entry via Easy Key, the DX+’s Easy Charge retractable charger, and Easy Flip, which deploys the pillion footrest with a single touch.
