Kia India recorded its highest-ever monthly sales for May since entering the Indian market, reporting wholesale dispatches of 27,586 units in May 2026. The automaker registered a 23.6 per cent year-on-year growth compared to 22,315 units sold during the same month last year, driven by strong demand across its SUV and MPV portfolio.

The company also maintained its growth momentum during the first five months of 2026, with year-to-date (YTD) sales reaching 1,39,197 units, up 14.6 per cent from 1,21,514 units recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.

According to Kia India, the sales growth was supported by sustained customer demand for the updated Seltos and Sonet, while newer products such as the Carens Clavis, Clavis EV and MY26 Syros continued to gain traction in the market.

Commenting on the performance, Atul Sood, Senior Vice-President, Sales & Marketing, Kia India, said that the company's highest-ever May sales reflect the strong acceptance of its product portfolio across multiple segments. He added that consistent demand for the Seltos and Sonet, coupled with the positive market response to the Carens Clavis, Clavis EV and MY26 Syros, has helped sustain the brand's growth trajectory.

The new Seltos remained one of Kia's strongest performers, crossing the 10,000-unit monthly sales mark consistently since its launch in January. The SUV's updated styling, feature-rich package and 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating have further strengthened its appeal among buyers. The Sonet also continued to contribute significantly to the company's volumes, aided by the wider availability of automatic transmission options across both petrol and diesel variants.

Kia noted that the MY26 Syros has received encouraging customer response, particularly due to its revised variant strategy, improved accessibility to automatic transmissions and enhanced value proposition.

The automaker's family-oriented offerings, including the Carens Clavis and the recently introduced Clavis EV, have also seen growing demand from customers seeking practical mobility solutions with flexible seating configurations and advanced features.

Kia further highlighted its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) initiative as a key element of its electric mobility strategy. The programme aims to reduce the upfront cost of EV ownership and improve accessibility for customers considering a switch to electric vehicles.

The company currently operates a network of 891 touchpoints across 402 cities in India, supported by 130 Certified Pre-Owned outlets, strengthening its sales, service and ownership ecosystem across both urban and emerging markets.
