Tata reveals updated Tiago And Tiago EV ahead of launch on May 28
Tata Motors has revealed the facelifted Tata Tiago and Tata Tiago EV ahead of their May 28 launch, introducing sharper styling, updated lighting elements, fresh features and possible improvements to the EV's range and technology.

Tata Motors has officially taken the wraps off the updated versions of the Tata Tiago and Tata Tiago EV ahead of their scheduled launch on May 28, 2026. The facelift brings a noticeably sharper exterior design, new lighting signatures and feature additions aimed at keeping Tata’s entry-level hatchback range competitive in the market.
Exterior design
The biggest changes are visible on the outside. Both the petrol-powered Tiago and the electric Tiago EV now feature a more upright and modern front-end design with redesigned LED headlamps and daytime running lights. While the standard Tiago gets a gloss-black grille inspired by newer Tata models, the EV adopts a cleaner closed-off fascia that differentiates it from its ICE counterpart.
The front bumpers on both versions have also been heavily revised. The Tiago ICE receives pixel-inspired fog lamp housings and a larger air intake section, while the EV gets a more streamlined bumper design without fog lamps. Tata has further updated the side profile with fresh alloy wheel patterns and blacked-out wheel arch cladding, lending both hatchbacks a slightly crossover-inspired appearance.
At the rear, the facelift introduces connected-style LED tail-lamps with vertically arranged light elements joined by a thick gloss-black trim piece. The updated tail-light treatment gives the Tiago a wider and more premium visual stance compared to the outgoing model. Tata has also redesigned the rear bumpers with cleaner geometric detailing.
New colour options have also been introduced as part of the update. The Tiago EV is showcased in a fresh mint green shade, while the standard Tiago debuts a bright coral orange finish aimed at younger buyers.
One of the major feature additions confirmed for the facelift is a 360-degree camera system. Camera modules mounted under the ORVMs and on the front bumper suggest that Tata could offer the feature on higher variants, potentially making it one of the most affordable cars in the segment with such technology.
Interior details yet to be revealed
Inside, Tata is expected to retain the updated dashboard layout introduced with the earlier model year refresh, including the illuminated steering wheel logo and the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. However, the facelift could bring a revised digital instrument cluster and additional convenience features on top-spec trims.
Other expected equipment includes automatic climate control, cruise control, automatic headlamps and wipers, TPMS and a cooled glovebox. Safety could also see a boost, with six airbags likely to become standard across the range.
Powertrain options
Under the hood, the Tiago ICE is expected to continue with the familiar 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 86bhp and 113Nm, paired with manual and AMT gearbox options. Tata is also likely to continue offering the i-CNG variants.
The Tiago EV, meanwhile, could receive improvements to battery efficiency and charging capability. The current model is available with 19.2kWh and 24kWh battery pack options delivering a claimed range of up to 293km. Tata may introduce revised battery chemistry or slightly larger battery packs to improve overall driving range and charging performance.
