New Porsche 911 Targa unveiled with modern yet timeless design

As the model designation suggests, the Porsche 911 Targa is available only in all-wheel-drive variants. Targa 4S has 64bhp more power and 70Nm more torque than Targa 4.

The Targa is the third variation of the new 992-generation Porsche 911 joining the regular Carrera and the high-performance Turbo versions.

The Porsche 911 Targa is halfway between a coupe and conventional cabriolet with its fabric roof and a stainless steel hoop along with wraparound rear glass.

The rear wraparound glass lifts up to reveal the fabric roof that is automatically deployed. The process takes 19 seconds.

Porsche 911 Targa is available in two variants – Targa 4 and Targa 4S.

New Porsche 911 Targa 4 is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo flat-six engine producing 380bhp and 460Nm.

The more powerful 911 Targa 4S has the same engine tuned to churn out 444bhp and maximum power and 530Nm of peak torque.

The 2020 Porsche 911 Targa 4 accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in 4.2 seconds while the Targa 4S can do the same run in 3.6 seconds. The Targa 4 and Targa 4S have top speeds of 289kmph and 304kmph, respectively.

The new Porsche 911 Targa’s dashboard is identical to its Carrera sibling. Of course, Porsche offers plenty of customization options to buyers.

The 911 Targa 4S is also available with an optional 7-speed manual transmission aside from the standard 8-speed dual clutch automatic (PDK).

As the company says, the Porsche 911 Targa combines the advantages of open-top driving in a cabriolet with everyday comfort and safety of a coupe.
