Vedanta Resources Limited Chairman Anil Agarwal on Friday said chip manufacturing will transform India and the time has come for India to be counted as a first world nation.
Speaking at a session during the India Today Conclave 2023 in Delhi, Anil Agarwal said, "Chip manufacturing will manufacturing will transform India and it is time for India to transition to the first world," Agarwal said.
When asked about the status of his company's chip manufacturing plant in Gujarat, Agrawal indicated that it may take some time, given the approvals required, but assured that the dream will definitely be realised.
"We have selected Gujarat. The land and infrastructure is really good. We are trying to start production of chips in 2-2.5 years. Simultaneously, we want a supporting ecosystem to also develop," he added.
