Sanjay Malhotra appointed as new RBI Governor

The government on Monday appointed Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra as the next Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor. Malhotra, a 1990-batch Rajasthan cadre IAS officer, will replace Shaktikanta Das, whose tenure ends on December 10. Malhotra will be the 26th RBI governor.

Currently serving as Revenue Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Malhotra brings over 33 years of experience across key sectors, including finance, taxation, power, information technology, and mining.
