Unmarried Foxconn woman worker kills newborn, dumps body in toilet in Bengaluru
The body of the newborn was found wrapped in a black garbage bag and dumped inside a dustbin. It was discovered by another woman employee when she went to the toilet.
An unmarried woman employee of Foxconn allegedly killed her newborn baby and dumped the body in a dustbin inside the toilet at the company's Bengaluru facility. She committed the crime allegedly out of fear of social stigma.
The baby was found in a brutal condition, wrapped in a black garbage bag and inside a dustbin.
The incident happened at Foxconn's manufacturing facility in Bengaluru's Devanahalli, which is one of the company's largest units, employing nearly 25,000 workers.
The matter came to light when another employee discovered the infant's body in the women's toilet.
The accused has been identified as Renuka, who has been taken into custody and admitted to a hospital.
A complaint in the case was filed by a company engineer, namely Kantaraju. Foxconn management alerted the police immediately after the newborn's body was found.
An FIR has been registered at the Vishwanathapura Police Station under Sections 93 and 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Police said further investigation into the matter is underway.
