34-year-old man shot dead in Delhi over parking dispute, hunt on for accused

A 34-year-old man was shot dead in east Delhi's Preet Vihar after a parking dispute escalated into a heated argument.

A 34-year-old man was shot dead in the early hours of Monday following a dispute over parking in east Delhi’s Preet Vihar, police said.

The incident stemmed from a heated argument between the victim, Pankaj Nayyar, and his brother Paras on one side, and Gaurav Sharma on the other.

During the altercation, Gaurav Sharma allegedly opened fire, shooting Pankaj Nayyar in the chest.

The incident occurred at around 2.20 am. Nayyar was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Police have registered an FIR under charges of murder (BNS Section 103(1)), voluntarily causing hurt (Section 115(2)), and acts done with common intention (Section 3(5)), along with Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act.

Efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the accused at the earliest, police added.
