Speeding Mercedes rams two cops at Mumbai's Marine Drive, driver arrested
The driver allegedly rammed the Mercedes into the police personnel when they attempted to stop the vehicle during a routine checking operation near Marine Drive.

A speeding Mercedes-Benz rammed two police officers on duty during a late-night routine checking operation at Mumbai’s Marine Drive, leaving both of them seriously injured.
The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday near the Wankhede Stadium, where the officers signalled the car, driven by 29-year-old Nihal Solanki, to stop.
However, the driver ignored the instructions and drove the vehicle directly towards the officers at high speed, hitting both policemen, officials said.
The constables sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Bombay Hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), officials said.
Following the collision, the accused allegedly fled the scene. After a search operation, the Marine Drive Police tracked down and arrested Solanki from Nalasopara in Palghar district later in the day.
Police suspect that Solanki was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. His blood samples have been collected for forensic examination.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
