3-year-old boy dies after falling into rainwater-filled pit in Greater Noida

A tragic incident in Greater Noida's Dallelgarh village has claimed the life of a three-year-old boy, identified as Devansh, who fell into a deep pit filled with rainwater while playing near a temple. Residents have expressed outrage, alleging that the local authorities ignored repeated complaints to fill the hazardous pit. The Greater Noida Authority responded by stating that the land is privately owned by local farmers and is not a government pond, claiming they cannot take direct action. This fatality follows the recent death of techie Yuvraj Mehta in Sector 150, further intensifying concerns over civic apathy and safety hazards in the region. Family members recounted the harrowing moments, stating that doctors at Kashi Ram Hospital suggested the child might have survived if brought just ten minutes earlier. While the family initially reported the matter to the police, no formal complaint has been processed as the authority maintained the site is private property.
