A five-year-old boy was crushed to death in Noida after an iron gate he was swinging on, suddenly collapsed on him. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment, but was declared dead on arrival.
According to reports, the child, identified as Navdeep, was playing near his house in Sector 93 on Saturday morning when the incident occurred.
He was reportedly swinging on the gate outside a neighbouring house when the old structure suddenly gave way and collapsed on him.
The heavy gate fell directly on the child, causing severe head injuries.
Hearing the loud crash, nearby residents rushed to the spot and lifted the gate to rescue him.
Family members immediately prepared to take Navdeep to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries before he could receive treatment.
Locals claimed the gate was old and in a dilapidated condition, which may have led to the collapse.
Police said necessary legal action is being taken in connection with the incident.
