India sets new record, administers over 1.33 crore Covid-19 vaccines in a day

India set new record by administering more than 1.33 crore Covid vaccine doses in a single day. A total of 1,33,18,718 vaccines were administered in India in the last 24 hours. With 1.33 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses being administered on Tuesday, the highest ever in a single day, the cumulative doses given in the country under the vaccination drive has exceeded 65.41 crore, according to the ministry.

This is the second time in less than a week that India has hit the 1 crore single-day Covid vaccination mark.

India hit the milestone of administering over 1 crore Covid-19 vaccines in a single day for the first time on Friday, August 27. As per the CoWin portal, 1,08,99,699 doses of Covid-19 vaccines were administered on August 27.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had congratulated the citizens and the health workers for the achievement. "Record vaccination numbers today! Crossing 1 crore is a momentous feat. Kudos to those getting vaccinated and those making the vaccination drive a success."
