Chaotic start for vaccination for 18-44 age group in Karnataka | Ground Report


India rolled out the third phase of its Covid-19 vaccination drive for those in the 18-45 age group on May 1 though the innoculation process failed to take off in some states due to shortage of vaccines.

States that have started vaccinating people between 18 and 44 years include Delhi, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Jammu Kashmir, Karnataka, Odisha, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

These nine states have been given vaccine supplies for the month of May. Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan have received 3 lakh vaccine doses each.

Video: Vijay takes oath as Tamil Nadu CM amid loud cheers and chants

TVK leader C Joseph Vijay on Sunday took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu amid a sea of supporters, his friends and family, and several political leaders. Eight other TVK leaders were sworn in besides him, as ministers in the new government. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also attended the ceremony. The TVK managed to secure the Governor's nod to form the government after the Congress, the CPI, the CPI(M), the VCK, and IUML extended their support to the Vijay-led party for a colaition government.
