Amid complaints over technical and payment-related problems during the CBSE post-result and re-evaluation process, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan held discussions with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on measures to improve the system.

Following the discussion, four public sector banks will support the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in strengthening its payment gateway infrastructure.

According to the Education Ministry, the four banks, State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank and Indian Bank, will assist CBSE in improving payment systems linked to the post-examination services portal.

The support is expected to strengthen digital payment infrastructure used by students applying for re-evaluation, verification of marks and other post-result services.

FOCUS ON PAYMENT GLITCHES AND REFUNDS

The banks will help CBSE introduce stronger payment protocols to ensure timely processing of payments and reduce transaction failures.

The measures will also address payment-related glitches and enable automatic refunds in cases where students make excess payments.

Students had recently reported difficulties while accessing post-result services, including issues related to payments on the portal.

Dharmendra Pradhan directed CBSE to undertake a complete overhaul of its payment gateway system to improve reliability and reduce disruptions.

The move comes days after the ministry asked technical experts from IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur to support CBSE in improving portal performance and strengthening IT systems.

The Education Ministry said the coordinated effort involving the Ministry of Finance and public sector banks is expected to ensure smoother digital transactions and improved stability of payment gateways.

The changes aim to make the re-evaluation and post-result process easier for students using CBSE services after board examination results.

Every year, thousands of CBSE students apply for services such as answer sheet photocopies, mark verification and re-evaluation. Payment failures or technical disruptions during these processes can affect applications submitted within fixed deadlines.

The latest intervention is aimed at reducing such disruptions and improving the overall experience for students and parents.
