REFORMS UNDERWAY

NTA stated that recommendations made by the Radhakrishnan Committee are being implemented in a time-bound and continuous manner. The agency said these reforms are aimed at improving examination security and reducing vulnerabilities across the testing process.

It also referred to a high-level meeting held on April 17, where an elaborate set of pre-examination, during-examination and post-examination measures were suggested to improve the system.

According to the affidavit, several of these recommendations are either already implemented or in the advanced stages of execution under the oversight of the Higher Public Service Commission (HPSC).

FOCUS ON EXAM SECURITY

The agency emphasised that reforms cover all stages of the examination cycle. This includes tighter controls before exams, monitoring during examinations and stricter evaluation and post-result procedures.

Officials said these steps are part of a broader effort to ensure that large national-level exams like NEET remain fair and credible for lakhs of students appearing every year.

The NTA further said that it is continuously reviewing its systems and updating protocols in line with expert recommendations. It maintained that safeguarding the examination process remains a top priority.

The affidavit comes at a time when concerns over exam leaks and irregularities have triggered wider discussions on strengthening India’s testing infrastructure and accountability mechanisms.
