The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 Session 2 begins today, with lakhs of candidates set to appear across centres in India and abroad.
As students head into one of the country’s most competitive engineering entrance exams, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has reiterated strict exam-day guidelines, including reporting time, dress code and a list of permitted and banned items.
Candidates have been advised to carefully check their admit cards for exam date, shift and centre details, and follow all guidelines without fail.
The agency has also warned that failure to comply with instructions may lead to denial of entry.
EXAM DAY TIMINGS AND ENTRY RULES
Exams will be conducted in two shifts: morning and afternoon
Candidates must report at least an hour early
Entry gates will close before the exam begins
Latecomers will not be allowed inside under any circumstances
It is advisable to visit the exam centre a day before

PwD candidates must carry required certificates and documents
