Suvendu Adhikari to retain Bhabanipur seat, vacate Nandigram
Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has decided to retain the Bhabanipur assembly constituency while vacating the Nandigram seat.
Long queues were seen outside most of the booths during the early hours of polling at 39 seats in the second phase of the assembly elections in Assam. The elections started at 7 am and will continue till 6 pm.
The fate of 345 candidates, including five ministers and the deputy speaker, is being decided in this phase.
The constituencies are spread over 13 districts in Barak Valley, the Hill districts and parts of central and lower Assam.
