Bodoland People's Front (BPF) leader Charan Boro took oath as Cabinet Minister at a high-profile oath ceremony event in Guwahati.
Boro, a prominent Bodo leader, held the Transport and Welfare of Bodoland portfolios in the first Himanta Sarma government. He defeated JMM candidate Priti Rekha Barla from Mazbat in Udalguri district by a margin of 55,546 votes.

Bora defeated Raijor Dal candidate Hari Prasad Saikia from Bokakhat in Golaghat district by a margin of 60,537 votes.

Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) president Atul Bora on Monday expressed gratitude to Assam Chief Minister-designate Himanta Biswa Sarma for once again placing faith in him and inducting him into the new NDA government in the state.
Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony, Bora said the confidence reposed in him by Sarma would inspire him to serve the people of Assam with greater commitment and responsibility. Calling May 12 a âhistoric and emotional dayâ for the state, Bora said Sarmaâs return as chief minister would usher Assam into a new phase of development, peace and prosperity.
He also praised Sarmaâs leadership and commitment to public welfare, saying Assam had witnessed rapid progress under his tenure. Assam Chief Minister-designate Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said that four MLAs will be sworn in as ministers alongside him at Tuesdayâs oath-taking ceremony in Guwahati. According to Sarma, the ceremony will also be attended by leading industrialists, Satradhikars of Vaishnavite monasteries, BJP workers and booth committee presidents from across Assam. Many dignitaries received traditional Assamese welcomes at the airport after landing in the city. Among the prominent leaders who have already arrived are Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Sarbananda Sonowal, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Lalan Singh, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Chirag Paswan. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president Nitin Nabin were also scheduled to reach Guwahati later in the night ahead of Tuesdayâs oath-taking ceremony.
