Prime Video has unveiled the first teaser trailer and images for Elle, the upcoming prequel to Legally Blonde that traces Elle Woods’ life long before Harvard Law School.
Created by Laura Kittrell, known for shows like Insecure and High School, the coming-of-age series stars Lexi Minetree as a teenage Elle Woods in 1995.
The teaser introduces a younger Elle navigating the chaos of high school, complete with complicated friendships, teenage romance and bold fashion choices. It also sets up a major shift in her life as she leaves sunny Bel-Air behind after learning that her father “has to find other work” in rainy Seattle.
The move marks an early turning point for the character, years before audiences met the confident, pink-loving law student in Legally Blonde.

According to the official synopsis, season one follows Elle as she tries to find her footing through the “tumultuous waters” of high school while leaning on her family for support, especially her growing bond with her mother.
The series explores the formative experiences that shape Elle Woods into the character fans eventually see at Harvard, presenting her teenage years as an important chapter in her personal journey.
Elle is produced by Amazon MGM Studios in association with Hello Sunshine, the media company founded by Reese Witherspoon, who famously played Elle Woods in the original film franchise.
The series will premiere on July 1 and stream exclusively on Prime Video.
