Editor’s note: In this fortnightly Sunday series, we speak to celebrities about the health habits they actually follow, not just what they recommend. From daily routines and fitness choices to the small signals their bodies send and how they respond to them, we look at how public figures manage their well-being. The series also brings out the kind of professional health advice they receive that often doesn’t make it into everyday conversations.

Kashika Kapoor, who has appeared in films and music videos, was last seen in the Telugu film LYF (2025) and made her Hindi debut with Aayushmati Geeta Matric Pass in 2024.

In this conversation, she opens up about how she approaches health beyond appearances, the one symptom she refuses to ignore, and the habits she considers non-negotiable. From sleep and hydration to managing stress and indulgence, she shares what keeps her grounded, and the common health myths she believes people need to move past.

One health check-up you never skip each year?

A comprehensive full-body check-up. I like to stay in tune with my health beyond what’s visible—it’s about awareness as much as appearance.

A symptom you would never ignore, no matter how busy you are?

Unusual fatigue. I’ve learned that exhaustion is often the body’s quiet way of asking for attention.

Your go-to strategy for calming the mind during high stress?

Intentional pauses—breathwork, silence, and stepping away from screens. Even a few minutes of stillness can be incredibly grounding.

One habit your doctor insists you follow?

Prioritising hydration and sleep. They sound basic, but they’re truly non-negotiable for long-term wellness.

A misconception about health you wish the public would stop believing?

That wellness is purely aesthetic. True health is internal—how you feel, function, and sustain yourself over time.

A daily routine that genuinely improves your gut and metabolic health?

Beginning the day with warm water, followed by a mindful, balanced meal, and staying physically active—through training, dance, or a game of basketball.

A food or drink you enjoy but keep in moderation, and why?

Desserts. I enjoy them fully, but in moderation - it’s about balance, not restriction.

A health app, device, or metric you actually track?

My sleep cycle and daily movement. They’re simple metrics, but incredibly telling.

What changed about your health priorities after your 20s?

My focus shifted from appearance to sustainability—feeling strong, energised, and mentally aligned became far more important.

Your non-negotiable rule for good sleep?

Creating boundaries with my phone before bed and ensuring uninterrupted rest. I also like to wind down by reading a book it helps me relax and switch off. Quality sleep is the foundation of everything.
