Eat well, exercise, stay around good people and keep working: Maye Musk

At the India Today Conclave 2026, model, dietitian and author Maye Musk reflected on life at 78 with honesty and warmth, saying that meaningful work and strong family bonds matter more than fame. She said her journey was shaped by her own choices long before she became known as the mother of Elon Musk, underscoring that personal purpose comes from work one loves rather than labels.

Musk spoke about how modelling evolved from a part‑time job into something that made her feel special. “Modelling is fun,” she said, expressing that age should not be a barrier to pursuing passions.

Discussing parenting, she said children bring immense joy and urged parents to support independence, allowing youngsters to make their own decisions and follow their interests.

Reflecting on ageing, Musk encouraged people not to fear growing older. She pointed to her own mother, who worked until 96, and shared simple advice: “Eat well, exercise, stay around good people and keep working.”

On relationships, she said removing negative people was essential for peace of mind, noting that life’s challenges make it more interesting.

Overall, she presented a life philosophy rooted in independence, purpose and enduring connections — a message that resonated deeply with the audience.
