Virat Kohli: From a dreamy-eyed boy to the biggest batting superstar

Virat Kohli started playing cricket when he was three-years old. According to his family, he would take a bat and swing it wildly while his father patiently kept bowling at him. 

Virat Kohli came into the international scene after he led India to U-19 World Cup win in 2008.

Virat Kohli named Sachin Tendulkar as his idol. After his heroics against Pakistan in the ICC World Twenty20 2016, he waved at the master, who was at the Eden Gardens to support the team.

Kohli was the leading run-scorer in his first U-15 tournament scoring  172 runs at 34.40 for Delhi in the Polly Umrigar Trophy.

Virat Kohli was born on 5 November 1988 in Delhi. His father, Prem Kohli, worked as a criminal lawyer while his mother, Saroj Kohli, is a housewife.
