Marathon legend Fauja Singh dies at 114 after being hit by vehicle in Punjab

Marathon legend Fauja Singh has died at the age of 114. Known as 'Turbaned Tornado', Singh was reportedly hit by a vehicle while crossing a road in Jalandhar, Punjab, at approximately 3:30 pm yesterday. Having started his running career at the age of 89 to manage personal grief, he became a global source of inspiration. Singh completed numerous marathons on various continents and was a torchbearer for the Olympic torch in 2012. Author Khushwant Singh, who documented his life in a biography, confirmed the news after communicating with Fauja Singh's family. In a social media post, the author expressed his grief over the loss of a person he revered. Fauja Singh's legacy of perseverance continues to inspire.
