India Today Conclave Next 2017 held a panel discussion on 'Technology and the Workplace of the Future'. Defending the step taken by the Modi government to ban Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley speaking at India Today Conclave Next 2017 said that the idea that demonitisation failed because people got their money into the banking system is an incorrect one.

Satya Nadella delivering the keynote address at India Today Conclave Next 2017 stressed that India in 2040 will be based on the choices its citizens make in 2017.

Speaking during the India Today Conclave Next 2017, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley defended Demonitisation and urged the media and the people to look at demonitisation not in isolation but along with other steps taken by the Modi government to improve the economy.

India's tax base has increased post demonetisation, Jaitley suggested, saying that the number of people filing tax returns individually is "going up" speaking at India Today Conclave Next 2017.
