Kailash Mansarovar Yatra: First batch of yatris reaches base camp | IN PICS

First batch of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra through Lipulekh route in Uttarakhand today reached ITBP camp mirthi where the yatris were given warm welcome by the 7th battalion Indo-Tibetan border Police (ITBP).

This 58 member first batch was flagged off from the ministry of external affairs New Delhi on June 11, 2019 and will now proceed towards the lipulekh pass and further towards the holy Kailash Mansarovar in Tibet.

Every year the ITBP assist in Kailash Mansarovar Yatra by providing security, communication and medical services to the yatris from both Lipulekh and NathuLa routes.

This year, there are 18 branches scheduled from Lipulekh route while 10 batches will proceed from the NathuLa route. There will be 60 and 50 members each in the respective batches.
