Fire breaks out in Hyderabad–Jaipur Express AC coaches; no casualties reported

A fire broke out in two air-conditioned coaches of the Hyderabad–Jaipur Special Express at Nampally Railway Station on Friday evening, officials said. No casualties were reported in the incident.

According to railway authorities, flames erupted in the B1 and B2 coaches of the train's 3-tier AC compartment shortly before its scheduled departure for Jaipur at 7 pm.

Fire personnel rushed to the station after receiving the alert and launched an immediate firefighting operation. The blaze was brought under control using three fire engines.

Officials said a major mishap was averted as there were no passengers inside the affected coaches when the fire broke out. Alert railway staff evacuated passengers from nearby compartments and assisted emergency teams in containing the flames.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Railway authorities are expected to conduct a detailed inquiry into the incident.
