6 Gujarat tourists killed after SUV plunges into gorge in Himachal amid heavy rain
An SUV carrying Gujarat tourists plunged into a gorge in Chamba district during heavy rain, killing six people and injuring four others. Continuous overnight rain had worsened conditions, and police are investigating the crash.

At least six tourists from Gujarat were killed and four others, including two children, critically injured after their SUV plunged into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district on Monday amid heavy rain.
The accident took place around 3 am when weather conditions in the region had severely deteriorated due to continuous rainfall and stormy conditions since Sunday night.
According to officials, a total of 10 people were travelling in the Toyota Innova.
Six people, including four men, two women and a child, died on the spot after the crash. The injured were rushed to the nearest health centre, where they received initial treatment.
Three of the injured were later referred to Tanda Medical College for advanced care.
Police teams reached the spot soon after receiving information about the accident and launched an investigation into the incident.
The victims have been identified as Lalitbhai Patnani and Mamtaben Lalitbhai Patnani, residents of Bhavnagar in Gujarat; Priyank Kanhaiyalal Bhopani; his wife Kajal; their child Diyansh; and the driver, Jaswant Kumar (51), a resident of Mandi district in Himachal.
Among the injured are Mayank Lalitbhai Patnani (31), Foramben Mayank Patnani (31), three-year-old Jiansh Patnani, and Priyanshi Bhopani (3).
