A late-night visit by a young man to his girlfriend’s house in Jharkhand’s Garhwa district took an unexpected turn after villagers and family members allegedly caught the couple together and later arranged their marriage with the consent of both families.

The incident triggered a discussion among relatives and villagers, following which a community meeting was held to resolve the matter. After deliberations, both sides reportedly agreed to solemnise the marriage after the couple expressed willingness to marry each other.

The wedding was conducted on Monday in the presence of villagers and family members. Videos of the ceremony, which have surfaced locally and are being widely circulated, purportedly show the couple performing traditional wedding rituals, exchanging garlands and participating in other customs in front of residents.

Another clip reportedly showed the bride leaving with the groom after the ceremony during the traditional vidaai ritual, while villagers and relatives gathered around the couple.

The unusual sequence of events has become a major talking point in the area, with locals describing it as a matter resolved through mutual understanding and social consensus rather than police or court intervention.
