Devendra Fadnavis-led Maharashtra cabinet expanded, 39 ministers inducted
A total of 39 ministers were inducted into the cabinet. Among them, were BJP's Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Pankaja Munde, Nitesh Rane, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde)'s Gulabrao Patil, Uday Samant, and NCP (Ajit Pawar)'s Dhananjay Munde and Babasaheb Patil.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis-led state cabinet got expanded on Sunday, as Mahayuti leaders took oath as ministers in Nagpur. Apart from Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar were also present.
A total of 39 ministers were inducted into the cabinet. Among them, were BJP's Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Pankaja Munde, Nitesh Rane, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde)'s Gulabrao Patil, Uday Samant, and NCP (Ajit Pawar)'s Dhananjay Munde and Babasaheb Patil.
It is expected that the list of portfolios will be announced in coming days. Fadnavis said that the alliance has "arrived on a consensus over (allocation of) departments, and it will be done in the next two to three days".Â

Among the Shinde Sena ministers retained into the cabinet are Uday Samant, Shambhuraje Desai, Gulabrao Patil, Dada Bhuse, and Sanjay Rathod. Sanjay Shirsat, Bharat Gogawale, Prakash Abitkar, Yogesh Kadam, Ashish Jaiswal, and Pratap Sarnaik also took oath.
However, some notable Shiv Sena leaders, including Deepak Kesarkar, Tanaji Sawant, and Abdul Sattar, did not return to the cabinet this time.
According to sources, both the Shiv Sena and NCP are expected to keep the portfolios they held in the previous Mahayuti government, with the Shiv Sena gaining one additional ministry.
The BJP is likely to retain major departments such as revenue, education, power and irrigation. NCP is expected to keep the finance, cooperative, agriculture and sports portfolios.
