Shimla teen dies after brick from under-construction building falls on his head
A brick fell on the 14-year-old boy while he was returning home from school. He died after battling for life for 11 days.

A 14-year-old boy in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla died after a massive brick fell on his head from the seventh floor of an under-construction building, leaving him critically injured. He battled for life for 11 days before succumbing to his injuries.
The boy, identified as Tanish Kaushal, was injured on April 29 while returning home from school when the brick fell from the private building and struck him on the head, police said.
Locals immediately rushed the critically injured boy to a nearby hospital, where he remained under treatment before succumbing to his injuries on Saturday.
Following the incident, a case has been registered under BNS Sections 125 and 125A for negligence, and one person, identified as Shanta Lal Chopra, has been arrested.
Police said they have launched an investigation, collected physical evidence from the site, and recorded statements of witnesses.
Officials said the accused would be produced before the court, while further investigation is underway.
The incident has sparked concerns over safety measures at under-construction buildings in densely populated residential localities in Shimla, where construction activity often takes place close to public roads and homes.
