Shout-filled cries were heard in Ludhiana's busiest area, Bharat Chowk, as people observed wheat sacks weighing around 50 kilograms starting to fall from an under-construction bridge after a truck was overturned. The sacks hit two cars and damaged them badly. However, no injuries were reported as the occupants safely escaped from the car.
As per the local shopkeepers, the truck was overloaded and could not sustain the weight of the sacks anymore. As a result, two sacks fell, hitting the cars. In addition, a bike, which was parked nearby, was also hit.
