Yadav (28) stays about 3 km away from the place where the victim lives in Alwar. He has been summoned twice by the police in the case.
"She was standing on the road and I stopped when she signalled. She got into my auto at 1:05 PM. There were 13 passengers in the auto. She got down at Monach pyao. I have been driving the vehicle for the last two to three years. I had not seen the girl anytime before [the day of incident]," Yadav said.
Later, when he was called in for questioning, Yadav admitted that he was scared and lied to the police that he had not picked up the 16-year-old girl who was allegedly raped brutally later that day.
"I got scared. That is why I initially told the police that I did not ferry the girl in my auto. But when I was summoned for the second time, I told them that I had dropped her. I picked up the girl and dropped her in Monach, 20 km away," he disclosed.
