Article 370: Ladakh BJP MP hits out at NCP, PDP

Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Ladakh Tsering Namgyal said majority of the people in Ladakh wanted it to be a Union territory and this was conveyed to then Home Minister Rajnath Singh when he visited the region.

Tsering Namgyal also took a dig at Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad for ignoring Ladakh.

"Yesterday, Congress leader in Rajya Sabha (Ghulam Nabi Azad) was screaming his lungs out saying what will happen to Ladakh, what will happen to Ladakh. I want to ask him, in 2008 when he was the chief minister his govt created eight new districts in J&K. Four were for Kashmir and the people of Jammu fought for an equal number. But Ladakh got nothing. Is this your equality?" Tsering Namgyal asked.

Tsering Namgyal also attacked J&K National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party and said "members of two families are still intoxicated and think that Kashmir is their father's property."

In 1952, Sarkar was arrested in Kashmir while he was accompanying Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee as the latter was marching to hoist the tricolour there.
