BJP Bengal chief stopped from staging dharna, Guv takes stock of situation in Hooghly's Rishra

Bengal BJP president Sukanta Majumdar was stopped from staging a dharna in Hooghly's Rishra on Tuesday. According to Majumdar, heavy barricades were put in place in Hooghly's Rishra and he was stopped from staging a dharna by the police, who said Section 144 was in place. Majumdar said that Section 144 was imposed in the morning after the TMC learnt that the BJP was planning to stage a dharna to protest against the violence that broke out in Hooghly's Rishra two days ago and alleged that the Kolkata Police were working as cadres of the ruling government. Meanwhile, Governor C V Ananda Bose cut short his Darjeeling tour and arrived in Hooghly's Rishra to take stock of the situation on ground.
