CAB not about Indian citizens but illegal migrants, says BJP leader Chandra Bose at India Today Conclave-East 2019

The controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, which was cleared by the Union cabinet on Wednesday, is not final and there is a possibility that more amendments will be introduced, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has said.

BJP leader Chandra Kumar Bose was speaking on the first day of the India Today Conclave-East, in Kolkata on Friday. The session saw panellists discussing the bill which seeks to grant citizenship to non-Muslim immigrants from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan if they faced religious persecution there.

Video: Vijay takes oath as Tamil Nadu CM amid loud cheers and chants

TVK leader C Joseph Vijay on Sunday took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu amid a sea of supporters, his friends and family, and several political leaders. Eight other TVK leaders were sworn in besides him, as ministers in the new government. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also attended the ceremony.
