CBI to question Sachin Vaze to verify extortion allegations against Anil Deshmukh

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday will question suspended Mumbai Police officer Sachin Vaze in the Anil Deshmukh-Param Bir Singh case. Sources say the CBI wants to verify claims of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh who has alleged that the then Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had asked Sachin Vaze to collect Rs 100 crore for him every month through extortion.

Sachin Vaze's statement will be crucial for the preliminary inquiry that the CBI is conducting against Anil Deshmukh.
