Congress, Gandhi family compromised national interest: Piyush Goyal

Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal held a press conference countering Rahul Gandhi's allegation that the Prime Minister is compromised over the US trade deal. Goyal accused the Gandhi-Nehru family of repeatedly compromising national interest at various junctures. He questioned why Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir was not taken when 93,000 Pakistani soldiers were released after the Shimla Agreement under Indira Gandhi. He alleged Jawaharlal Nehru's secretary was an open book for CIA and KGB, and in 1954, Nehru surrendered India's interests in Tibet to China. Goyal claimed Nehru wrote letters to the UN Security Council recommending China as a permanent member instead of India. He defended the government's trade deals with the European Union, UK, Switzerland, EFTA, Australia, New Zealand, Oman, UAE, and GCC countries, stating farmers' interests were protected and millions of jobs secured. Goyal asked if Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were behind protests during the AI Summit that embarrassed India.
