Top Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, are holding a massive 'Vote Chor Gaddi Chor' rally at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi today. The protest targets the government over the 'Special Intensive Revision' (SIR) of electoral rolls and alleged vote theft. Ahead of the rally, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivkumar met with the Gandhis. A party leader stated, 'The spirit will be seen on this December 14th at Ramlila Maidan... where the Congress Party will hold a massive rally against vote theft.' The party claims to have collected over 5 crore signatures from across India to highlight the issue.

TVK leader C Joseph Vijay on Sunday took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu amid a sea of supporters, his friends and family, and several political leaders. Eight other TVK leaders were sworn in besides him, as ministers in the new government. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also attended the ceremony. The TVK managed to secure the Governor's nod to form the government after the Congress, the CPI, the CPI(M), the VCK, and IUML extended their support to the Vijay-led party for a colaition government.
