Sresan Pharma Owner Arrested After Contaminated Cough Syrup Kills Over 20 Children In MP

The owner of Srisan Pharmaceuticals, Ranganathan, has been arrested in connection with the deaths of more than 20 children in Madhya Pradesh from a contaminated cough syrup. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) nabbed the owner in Chennai, who was allegedly attempting to flee the country, and has brought him to Madhya Pradesh. The incident has ignited a political blame game, with Madhya Pradesh's Chief Minister accusing the Tamil Nadu government of non-cooperation. In response, Tamil Nadu's Health Minister stated his government acted swiftly. The case highlights severe regulatory failures, with reports of the company being allowed to operate despite over 364 violations.
