Delhi rains: Houses washed away, roads caves in

A few hours of heavy rainfall brought Delhi to a standstill on Sunday with waterlogging in several areas and four people losing their lives in different parts of the capital. The national capital received its first spell of heavy rains Sunday morning which inundated low-lying areas. Waterlogging in several areas of the national capital due to heavy rains affected movement of traffic. The Delhi Traffic Police posted alerts on Twitter to inform commuters about waterlogged roads. As many as four people died in rain-related incidents in different parts of Delhi. The first death was reported from the heavily waterlogged Minto Road wherein a 60-year-old man, who was driving a Tata Ace, also known as 'Chota Hathi', died due to drowning while he was driving towards Connaught Place manoeuvring the vehicle through the waterlogged underpass.

Video: Vijay swears in as Tamil Nadu CM amid roars, chants of frenzied crowd

TVK leader C Joseph Vijay on Sunday took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu amid a sea of supporters, his friends and family, and several political leaders. Eight other TVK leaders were sworn in besides him, as ministers in the new government. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also attended the ceremony. The TVK managed to secure the Governor's nod to form the government after the Congress, the CPI, the CPI(M), the VCK, and IUML extended their support to the Vijay-led party for a colaition government.
